Chinese Medicine & Acupuncture
Dr. Fatimah Barden is a registered Chinese Medicine practitioner and Acupuncturist based in Mowbray in Cape Town.
Dr. Barden has attained two degrees over the years, and completed a 2 year internship in South Africa and China. She currently is an executive committee member of SAACMA (SA Association of Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture), and Professional Board member of the AHPCSA (Allied Health Professions Council of South Africa). She qualifies in General Medicine, Gynaecology, Dermatology and Paediatrics.
Her passion lies within Gynaecology (fertility, endometriosis, polycystic ovarian syndrome and irregular periods, etc), as well as Dermatology (pigmentation, acne, eczema and psoriasis).
Acupuncture is used for all types of conditions (acute and chronic). It aims to get to the root of the problem, not only treating the symptoms but the disease or condition as a whole. Acupuncture may be used in combination with other therapies listed as well as Chinese herbal medicine, Each patient is treated differently according to what is found upon consultation. Traditional Chinese medicine aims to regulate bodily processes which is a lifelong investment in your health.
